Being a thrifter means being overly fancy

My husband and I spent our Saturday night as married couples are wont to do - assembling furniture! We put together the bookshelf I picked up at Goodwill a few weeks ago and it is SO CUTE!

Look at this genius packaging - the hardware you need for each step were individually contained!

The back was labelled so you opened sections as you went through. Step 13 was the ubiquitous strap to hammer into the wall so we skipped it. I'm also proud to say we didn't need any spare parts!

Temperatures are dipping so it was time for the hibiscus to come inside. They look so cute on the shelf!

I replaced the included silver knobs with the crystal ones from last year. That was a good saling day.

Instead of a saucer I threw one on top of the chess/checker board I picked up last week.

The other is on the cake stand from last Saturday on top of a placemat I picked up at the same town wide sale. It will definitely change stuff as I bring in more plants and "style" the shelf but this was stuff I had readily on hand.

Ever notice thrifters use overly decorative items for mundane tasks?

I really like that bookcase and yes we thrifters/collectors use items for lots of things besides what they were meant for!!
