As long as the plants don't revolt we'll be ok

Remember the 98 cent mums I mentioned last week? I didn't go near Home Depot this week because this many new plants in September did not seem like my wisest plan. Then I had to go to Lowes to pick up some home essentials and they'd undercut their mums to .89.

.89!

At that price it would have been foolish not to buy at least one.

Right?

I got a white one to plant in that pot on the left. Just two weeks ago the large one on the right was this small! Mums are perennials so Future Anny will have to try and find these a permanent place in about a month.

I picked up this rootbound dahlia for $3 and put it in a slightly larger pot. Its gorgeous but I thought dahlias were lazy perennials - the kind you leave over-the-winter and next spring welcome back. Turns out you have to dig up the plant, preserve the root over the winter and plant it carefully next spring.

Yeah, I'm not going to do that.
