There just isn't continuity between chain thrifts!

I drove a lot and ended up near Favorite Salvation Army and Faraway Crappy Salvation Army.

Crappy SA:
  • Gevalia Mug: .79
  • Milk Glass Candle Holder: .99

There little ridges needed a q-tip cleanse.

The candle holder's price tag was pretty scribbled. I asked the cashier how much it was and she asked the pricer who said "2.99" WACK! I, of course, said no and the cashier agreed and asked if .99 was ok. I know eBay is swamped with this kinda stuff but I took it anyway.

Side note - I need to work on restraint. I am not good at walking out of thrift stores without buying anything at all.

Speaking of non-restraint...

Favorite Salvation Army:
  • Crate & Barrel Candle Holder: .99 (maybe to keep)
  • Clay Owl: .49

Quirky, right?

Yeah, most Salvation Amry's around here blow, but I assume it's all the back door deals. I witnessed a back door deal at a SA & reported it, I assume there was an investigation as the manager doesn't work there. I volunteered at a SA before I started thrifting & the guy told me to but certain items aside because he has outside buyers. It didn't occur to me what was going on.

I love the owl. I also suffer from empty hand syndrome I feel I need to buy something every time I go or I have wasted my time

It really sucks because its not as if the "good stuff" wouldn't sell if they put it out with the everyday goods too. At the place I volunteer it all goes out.
