We are about to be Rick Rolled

The preview playlist for Just Dance 4 is so unbelievably disappointing that I won't be buying it until it hits $5. So far they've announced 19 of the final 40 and its pretty bad guys:

"Spinning Around" -Kylie Minogue
"Super Bass" -Nicki Minaj
"Feel So Close" -Calvin Harris
"You're The First, The Last, My Everything" -Barry White
"Right Here, Right Now" -Fatboy Slim
"Never Gonna Give You Up" -Rick Astley
"I'm Like A Bird" -Nelly Furtado
"Maneater" -Nelly Furtado
"Wild Wild West" -Will Smith
"Music Sounds Better With You" -Stardust
"Another Chance" -Roger Sanchez
"So What" -Pink
"Played-A-Live" -Safri Duo
"Call Me Maybe" -Carly Rae Jepsen
"Disturbia" -Rihanna
"What Makes You Beautiful" -One Direction
"Moves Like Jagger" -Maroon 5
"Rock Lobster"- The B-52′s
"Good Feeling" -Flo Rida

I know two songs: Moves Like Jagger (so annoying it never became catchy) and Wild Wild West, which was from the 90s. I've never heard of Carly Rae Jepsen and I'm pretty sure Barry White is dead! With such awesome, currently peppy music why would they choose this insipid batch!?

After seeing this snoozefest I have two suggestions for the development team:

1. Top Songs of the Year
Just Dance is about the music rather than dance moves. Stuff from the 60s, 70s and 80s is only famililar from commercials or obscure sound tracks and I was born in the (late) 70s! I can't imagine teenagers have any idea where most of the stuff on these disks came from.

2. Or just make it about the genre
I guess this ties into the top songs thing. While I may play weird, obscure songs once or twice the songs I play the most are the ones I know. My Just Dance 2 has only one song I play: Beyonce's Crazy in Love.

I'm not saying we shouldn't expand our musical horizons or its wrong to throw in some random japanese song - I'm saying its more fun to bounce around making a fool of yourself to music you already bounce around and make a fool of yourself to ;)

You've never heard of the B-52's? Shame.
