I never said I was an early adopter

About a week ago I bought an iPad. As usual I waited it out and got a good deal but this isn't about the dealiness of it - its about the awesomeoness of this device!

Wait, not that device.

Yep, that one.

My phone is out being repaired so I have been FaceTiming my guy and relatives. Even my cousin in DR can facetime us! Now I know FaceTime is just a gimiccky way of saying webcamming (soooo 1990s) but there sure is something sweet about being able to walk around with a tablet instead of a laptop or being stuck on a desk.

I've also been excited about HBO Go, which lets me watch ALL seasons of classics like Six Feet Under, Sopranos, Oz and even current stuff like True Blood. I don't even need to be on my home network to access this stuff!

Lastly and most surprising was the TREMENDOUS amount of free e-books out there. The first thing I downloaded was a book on tips for new iPad users. Today while waiting for my car to be tinkered with I read 2 books on photography and started another on personal finance. I even created a little shelf for my 4 year old niece that includes plenty of picture books and a pre-k math book (she is my little math genius).

There have been 2-3 iPads in the family for a year or two but in the last month my guy, my younger cousin and I finally got with the times and picked up our own. There is a lot to be said for figuring out "new" technology with some of your favorite people :)
