Day 19 - A passage from a book that has touched you

For the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain
This was on the cover of my high school notebook for 4 years because I'm consistent and used to have a much darker outlook on life. I was able to type it from memory then googled to make sure I was correct.
Funnily enough google revealed the lines before this to be:
Ah, love, let us be true
To one another

So I took a morbid little love poem and turned it into a morbid little life poem *rolls eyes*

Lately I've been digging:
A mind grows by what it feeds on. - Josiah Gilbert Holland
I love this quote's simple elegance. If we can care for others, why can't we care for ourselves mentally as well?
