Day 9 - 5 things I want to see change

1. A more regular sleep pattern would be nice. Lately I've been falling asleep at a normal hour for commuters. Unfortunately I've been waking a few hours later and insomnia'ing for an hour or two before going back to sleep. Suggestions welcome!

2. Serenity - I'm not saying we should inject pax into our water supply but working five days a week has reminded me of how hurridly most of the world lives. Commuting and trying to cram a full personal day into an after-hours crunchtime leads to such stress that I question wether I could go back to a full-time job.

3. Tolerance - Whether its of a different race, gender, religion, etc. I wish we could appreciate the differences rather than be threatened by them.

4. Self-Appreciation - I think the unhappiest people are those who don't appreciate themselves. Someone who understands and cares for their own needs will be more fulfilled and open to the world.

5. Better education for all - Last summer I was insulted for being educated. Its been almost a year and while I realize the person was speaking from a point of ignorance and probable dissatisfaction with their own lot, the words stung and stuck. I wish everyone could accept educational opportunities and learn to think rather than react.

So what I want is for the entire world to slow down, be kinder and smell the roses. I really should just skip to the retirement portion of my life, eh?
