Lemon Yogurt Tea Bread

This recipe is from my baking class earlier this year. I love lemon and this was so easy to make. My teacher said it was lowfat due to the yogurt and buttermilk but don't quote me on that!

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1.5 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs beaten
3/4 cups vegetable oil
2 cups lemon flavored yogurt
3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Sanding sugar to finish (I didn't have this)

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. Sift dry ingredients together
  3. Mix wet ingredients together
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, combine well
  5. Let sit 30 minutes
  6. Bake 60 minutes at 325

Oh my goodness. I am so going to make this tonight. My mouth is watering. I guess since I didn't have cake for my birthday and my daughter will be home tomorrow to celebrate her birthday...(actually today) this would be a great non chocolate cake (we are both dieting) for us to share. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to make this.
