What Would You Spend Money On?

There is an interesting conversation going on at Hip Domestics. The original poster was broke for a long time but recently received a large raise and wants to buy nicer things. All well and dandy but she doesn't know how to splurge. Enter the internets with suggestions!

If time allowed and I were in her situation I would:
1. Travel
2. Take random classes

Sure two things may seem like a pretty minimal list but travelling can be pricey and I like buying jewelry while away to remember a trip by. As to random classes - they all make me want to buy stuff to continue working from home.

Many posters suggested kitchen gadgets and home items. Unless I won lottery money I couldn't upgrade at msrp. Its funny how many listed KitchenAid mixers but I frequently see them on Craigslist for $50 - $75. Heck - I got mine for $20 at a garage sale a block from my house.

In the end, the best thing money can buy is time. If you're overworking to buy stuff chances are you're not going to be around to enjoy them. You may as well bank the money and pray for a more relaxed life.

"The rich man isn’t the one who has the most, but rather the one who needs the least."

The quote doesn't say if it applies to women or not.

Kay thanks for the tip on the kitchenaid! I want one, but I can definitely do $50. Not $100+.
