New Dominos Pizza Deemed Yucky

I was really surprised when Domino's started airing "anti-dominos" commercials last year. I love Dominos and it had been a core part of my eating schedule many times when things got too hectic for cooking.

Last night was my first time ordering their new recipe and I was so disappointed. The sauce was spicier and more plentiful, which I loved.

But the crust?

The poor, sad crust?

It had a less dense consistency, which I can forgive but it also tasted freezer burned. We ordered three different pies and all had the same "icicles have grown on me" taste. I don't know if this was a bad batch from the local shop or if it is part of the new taste but it was pretty lousy.

Of course, there were others around so it all got eaten (plus I'm trying to pile on the bikram calories) but I doubt I'll be ordering Dominos again anytime soon.

Amen, sista. Amen. Domino's is a fave. It's on speed dial. When they made they're "yucky" commercials, I was apalled. Wha? My fave pizza? Yucky?

I haven't tried it yet, but the BF tried it and he says the crust tasted like it had garlic butter all over it. He didn't say it was BAD, but definitely didn't like it as much as their former recipe. (Do they happen to have different crust flavors now? He doesn't know what was ordered...so that would explain the difference in your experiences.)

@QL,
I work with Domino's and just wanted to say that if you don't like the new garlic crust you can still get the old recipe. Simply ask for no garlic on the crust and they will be more than willing to do it for you. I think you'll find that this tastes just like the old crust that you are used to.

Hmmm...I was wondering about the new taste. We've pretty much given up on the pizza wars and make our own. The only time we order out for pizza is with Papa Murphys where you have pick it up, bring it home, and bake it yourself.
