Spray Painting Glass?

Beautiful Glass TableI called dibs on a clear glass table from craigslist earlier tonight. I'm not overly excited (well maybe 90%) because cg is so fickle and the woman wants me to pick it up Saturday morning. I don't count anything as mine until its been loaded into a vehicle and carted off.

But thinking about the glass table reminded me of this post over at Rate My Space where the designer spray painted the underside of his table a glossy black that has me envious (you should click to see the rest of the pictures in the series - GORGEOUS!).

Thinking of black glass reminded me of Moregeous' creative use of monochromatic stickers.

Here is where I wish I had Martha Stewart's design team step in. How could I get the same effect on my future table? It would be in high use so I can't just stick them unto the surface. I don't know if a clear adhesive would work well or if I can assume the spray paint would hold them in place. Also I'd need to control the overspray trying to seep under the stickers.

Update: Amanda at Serenity Now (aww) spray painted then removed decals without any apparent issues. I feel optimistic :)

Hi there! I used a spray frost, which is a little bit different than the color. Very easy to use though. I did the underside of the table so it won't scratch off. Thanks for the visit. :)

I'm definitely doing the underside too. I've been googling painting glass and so many people have done amazing things!
