Check out my Not Drowning!

So that's how you float!Tonight was my first swim class and well...

*cue flashback*

Back in college I had a penchant for taking a completely random class every semester. I flipped through the catalog like I flip through CVS ads today, looking for that special class to tickle my fancy.

I got 3.5 in Ballet, Intro to Piano and Sculpture based on enthusiasm rather than any talent. I have a feeling if Swimming were being graded I'd end up with a 3.5 again.

There were about twenty-five people in class and I ended up with the Bottom 6. We had a buddy system going and everything! So while the rest of the class was working on different strokes we were on boogie boards, bouncing around and laughing but not floating by anyone's definition.

Ironically the swim teacher and I were wearing very similar shirts. They were both black with a huge white cross and the word LIFEGUARD printed across the front.

Hopefully only one of us was wearing it ironically.

Interesting. I agree with you totally. Furthermore I have another point to add. I think its essential that children today have a friendly and good swim instructor to guide them along. So that they will take to the hobby with delight, rather than find it a useless skill. But then again, most kids always love swimming afterall.
