Freedom from Money

Money to Problems RatioThis month's Vibe finds Kanye wishing he had fewer fans and saying having less money is freedom:

DIY Be Kanye West Kit"I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans," he told writer Sean Fennessey when asked if he was comfortable with fame. "I want the freedom of having less fans. It's like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility."

His "freedom of having less money" line is already being debated all over the airwaves which is ridiculous. Biggie said "Mo money, mo problems" and everyone nodded. Kanye elucidated and people react as if he were telling them to eat cake.

Freedom of less fans means he wants the freedom to experiment without the backlash of people who want his old sound remixed. He got a lot of flak for 808s and Heartbreak (which I listen to daily) and his publicist quickly assured the public a rapping album would drop in 09.

I think Kanye wants open minded, dedicated fans and less responsibility to satisfy a larger, more finicky public.
