Fire Safety in the New Year

Burned HomePlenty of people use space heaters as energy savers during the winter months. Unfortunately they don't always exercise caution and this leads to all types of disasters.

"The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that every year space heaters are associated with more than 25000 residential fires and 300 fatalities." Source. Yesterday my brother's neighbor's house burned down. The houses are about five feet apart so there were some tense moments.

So please remember to use surge protectors, keep them away from flammable material, check on them often and periodically shut them off if they don't do it themselves!

What you should know about space heaters.
