Power of Touch

I was just rereading Unveiled: The Hidden Lives of Nuns and came across a striking passage:

"And I understood in my skin why Frances had chosen her massage ministry for abused woman: She is offering a healing touch to women who are not accustomed to physical kindness."

I had to close the book. This line struck me as deeply today as it did three years ago. Sometimes it feels like physical kindness is vanishing from our world.
