New iPods Unveiled, Quasi-Covetting Ensues

New iPod Touch
So the less somber buzz this morning is the release of new iPods. They're sleeker, cheaper and ... better for the environment?

"Jobs touted the newly redesigned iPod nano as more environmentally friendly than past models, with arsenic-free glass; no brominated flame retardant, mercury or PVC; and more recyclable materials. “There’s more we’re going to do in the future, but these are the cleanest, toxic-free iPods we’ve ever built,” he said."

New iPod NanoNew nanos come in purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink and silver. The 8GB nano is $149. The 16GB $199.

The iPod Classic seriously dropped in price: 120GB for $249. It used to cost $249 for 80GB and $349 for 160GB.

iPod touch added integrated volume controls, a built-in speaker and the same back as the iPhone 3G. The 8GB costs $229, while the 16GB and 32GB models cost $299 and $399. Source: MacWorld

White people, get your wallets ;)

In other Applish news:

The Burger KingHave you guys seen the commercial where Mac Guy walks in on PC Guy dressed like the Burger King and sitting on a throne? PC is busy lording until Mac Guy points out new Mac owners can bring their old pcs into any Apple store and have their files transferred over from PC to Mac for free.

PC Guy is appropriately distressed and waves his sceptre at Mac Guy, telling him he "IS BANISHED!"

I love that one!

I know the new Microsoft commercials are out but since they didn't advertise during the Sarah Connor Chronicles (THE FOOLS) I haven't seen them and YouTube is too much effort. *stretch*

If Apple was really environmentally conscious, it would stop doing all these crazy upgrades forcing us to toss out our arsenic glassed previous models :p

They're banking on you being so attached to the things you keep them around anyway in a twisted museum of effaced, beautiful electronics.
